Purposes

Version 2026-11-03-1 · 3 November 2026

Plain examples of the 6 Purposes in the Mirai Likeness Licence.

Mirai and its licensees make and use content of you only for these 6 Purposes, inside Your Rules and your switches (Licence 3.1, 3.2). Each Purpose starts with the Licence's own words, then gives examples.

Adding an example never adds a new kind of use. An example sits inside its Purpose. A new Purpose or a new kind of use needs your yes in the app (Licence 16.4).

1. Your account

Your kit, model card, previews, likeness checks and welcome film.

  • Your kit: the selfie, head turn and photos you add, and the character sheet made from them.Licence 10.1
  • Your model card, with the studio headshot on it.Licence 10.3B
  • Previews of you, shown in your account.Licence Part 1
  • Likeness checks: one that your selfie, head turn and photos show the same person, and one that content made of you looks like you.Licence 10.3
  • Your welcome film, a free film of you that comes once your face is added.Terms 14F

2. Your own creations

Director films, images, presets and remixes starring you.

  • A film of you made in Director.Licence Part 1, 10.3B
  • An image of you made in Studio, including a product image with you in it.Licence 10.3B
  • A preset you use with your own face.Licence Part 1 · Terms 5.1
  • A remix of a format with your face in it.Licence 2.8 · Terms 5.5

3. Friends and community

Cameos and personal creations by other users, only if you switch that on or approve the cameo.

  • A friend puts you in a cameo in their film. You approve each cameo with a tap, even when "Others can create with me for personal use" is off.Licence 12.1
  • Another user makes a personal film or image with your face, only while "Others can create with me for personal use" is on. It starts off, and only you turn it on.Licence 12.1, 12.7 · Terms 6.3
  • Another user remixes a format with your face, for personal use, while that switch is on.Licence 12.1 · Terms 6.3
  • A film with you in it is posted with its Mirai wordmark and content credential. It is for personal use: no ads, no sponsorship and no earning from it unless its maker buys a commercial licence.Licence 12.7

4. Enterprises

Commercial licences at your price, in the listed image and video formats, where Schedule C says licensing is open for you, and film, television, streaming and other audiovisual productions only if you approve that deal.

Licensed inside Your Rules

  • An enterprise licenses an image of you for its website, social ads, email or retailer listings.Terms B2
  • An enterprise licenses an image of you for print, packaging, billboards or in-store, where Your Rules allow print and out-of-home.Licence 3.2 · Terms B2
  • An enterprise licenses a video clip of you for digital ads or digital out-of-home screens.Terms B2
  • An agency buys a licence for a client it names. The client is the licensee.Licence 15.1 · Terms B1
  • An enterprise using Mirai through a Platform Partner's app or API, on terms no wider than Schedule B. An audiovisual production bought this way still needs your approval of that deal.Licence 15.1 · Terms 8.5, 0.1A

Licences run for 6, 12 or 24 months (Licence 7.3). Where your place is marked "approval cards" in Schedule C, each one reaches you as a request first (Licence 23.2). A Platform Partner is a company that, under a Partner Agreement, offers Mirai licences to its own users through an API or shows Mirai content in its app (Terms 0.1A).

Only if you approve that deal

  • A film, including its trailer and marketing.Needs your approval of the dealLicence Part 1 · Terms B2
  • A TV series.Needs your approval of the dealLicence Part 1 · Terms B2
  • A film or series made for a streaming service.Needs your approval of the dealLicence Part 1 · Terms B2
  • A microdrama or a vertical series, made in short episodes to watch on a phone.Needs your approval of the dealLicence Part 1 · Terms B2
  • An AI film or an AI series.Needs your approval of the dealLicence Part 1 · Terms B2
  • A music video.Needs your approval of the dealLicence Part 1 · Terms B2

Mirai makes no audiovisual licence of you unless you approve that deal. Each deal is agreed separately, under an Enterprise Order Form, and runs for the term you approved (Terms B2, B3). The licensee is an enterprise, such as a film or TV company, a streaming service or a production studio. Distributors and broadcasters that carry the finished production as delivered may show it, and may not use your likeness apart from it (Licence 15.1).

Work you are hired to do is not part of any Purpose: a shoot, an appearance, a recording session, or a digital replica made for your own performance in a production that hires you. That needs its own written agreement with whoever engages you (Licence 4.3, 4.3B).

5. Showcase

Your card and published content in the gallery, charts and competitions, on Mirai (including inside Partner Apps) and in Platform Partners' apps (clause 2.7).

  • Your model card in the gallery.Licence Part 1
  • Your published films and images, shown in the gallery.Licence Part 1
  • Your published films on a chart.Licence Part 1
  • A competition entry that shows you. It goes public only after you approve it, and you can withdraw it before judging closes.Licence 12.2A
  • Your card and published content inside a Partner App, an app in which Mirai runs as a mini app.Licence 2.7 · Terms 0.1A
  • Your card and published content in a Platform Partner's app, which shows Mirai content under a Partner Agreement.Licence 2.7 · Terms 0.1A

Showcase is showing. A licence to use content of you is Purpose 4.

6. AI training

Only if you turn on Training data, on its own sheet (Part 3). It is off unless you do.

  • Your sign-up photos, licensed to AI companies Mirai approves, to train and test their AI models.Licence T2
  • The films and photos made of you, in the same data. One that also shows someone else is included only if that person has turned on Training data too.Licence T2
  • A dataset that includes you, going only to a company named on Mirai's recipients list before any of your data goes to it.Licence T4

Part 3 sets the limits, including what Training data never includes, such as face templates or adapters in a dataset (Licence T8).

What no example changes

  • Political, religious, health or medical, and financial uses need your separate yes for each licence (Licence 3.3).
  • Sexual or nude content, anything suggesting a minor, and anything that says you like or use a product never happen, even with your yes (Licence 3.4).
  • Your voice is optional and has its own consent, given when you record it (Licence 12.3).
