Mirai Season 0: Cast Call. Official Rules

Version 5.3.2, 22 October 2026. Published at mirai.inc/legal/competition-rules/season-0.

v5.3.2 change note: the rules now say what the competition code does, and every number on this page comes from it: the rounds as days from the season start; who can enter and where; the free entry; how many entries; each category's cast rule, judging and prize, one prize a category a round; how a prize is split; how judging works; when credits arrive; no cash prizes in Season 0 (A2 audit, 2026-10-22). Section 5B adds the cast invite: a member can ask another member first, and that member's Yes gives a one-way cast pass before any film is made (A3 audit, 2026-10-22).

v5.3.1 change note: Season 0 is "Cast Call": the categories match the app; the headline prize is 3,000 film credits for the best film, split equally between the maker and every approved cast member; a cast pass lets everyone in an approved entry create with each other until the season ends (Rodney, 2026-10-22).

v5.3 change note: every category open to entries without your own face; credit prizes last at least 12 months; a public winners page; "cast prize" used throughout; no release of third parties in Latin America (R17).

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Buying anything does not improve your chance of winning. This is a contest of skill: there is no draw and no element of chance. Void where prohibited.

These rules add to the Mirai Platform Terms, §7 and §7A ("Terms"). They never take anything away from them.

1. Who runs it

  • Sponsor and administrator: Mirai Talent Inc., 2810 North Church Street, Wilmington, DE 19802, USA ("Mirai").
  • No sponsored category in Season 0. Mirai pays every prize, from its own published budget.
  • Partner App operators, our identity-verification partner, Apple, Google, Meta, TikTok and X do not sponsor, run or endorse this competition, and are not responsible for it ("Partner App" and "Verified Human Check" are defined in Terms §0.1A). [Outside Latin America: You release them from any claim about it.]

2. Dates

All times are Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Mirai's server clock decides whether an entry was on time. Season 0 starts at the time Mirai sets and shows on the competition page (the season start), and the competition page shows each round's dates.

RoundEntries openEntries closeWinners announced
Round 1At the season start14 days after the season startAfter the round closes and judging is done
Round 214 days after the season start30 days after the season startAfter the round closes and judging is done

Season 0 ends when its last round closes.

3. Who can enter

You can enter if, when you enter and when you win:

  • you are at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if it is higher (Terms §3);
  • you live in one of these places: the United States (the 50 states and the District of Columbia), the Philippines, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Puerto Rico and the other US territories are not included;
  • you hold one Mirai account, verified as a unique human with the Verified Human Check, done in person, with a passport, or with a live selfie or another ID document; and
  • you are not on a sanctions list.

You cannot win if you are on Mirai's staff (employees and contractors), a judge, on the staff of a sponsor or its agencies, or a member of the household or immediate family of any of them.

US persons, and residents of Colombia and the Philippines, can enter, but cannot add their own face at launch, so they never appear in an entry themselves, including as cast (Terms §1.4B). They can still make entries with Mirai's free faces, a face that allows it, or no person. This includes New York, Illinois and Washington residents. Nobody can add or upload a face while connecting from Illinois, or on an account whose declared or connection state is Illinois.

3A. Places excluded, or recognition only

  • Not eligible: countries and regions under comprehensive US sanctions, which for these rules include Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, so-called Donetsk and so-called Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
  • Prizes are film credits in Season 0 (section 5), except:
    • Brazil: recognition only. Winners there get the Winner badge, a gallery feature and the winners' announcement, not credits. Brazil's promotions law does not exempt a contest whose prize is the promoter's own product or service, so a credit prize would need a government permit.
    • The Philippines: recognition only, in every round, until the trade department's permit for the promotion is granted. Winners there get the same recognition as in Brazil.

4. How to enter

  • Make your entry on Mirai during the round, then tap Enter on the category. Entering is your consent for your likeness in that entry to be used in the competition: shown in Mirai's public gallery, judged, voted on where the category has a public vote, and, if it wins, announced with your handle. Your entry is Mirai's, like everything made on Mirai, and you can always post it on your own channels (Terms §5). [Latin America: an entry that shows no real person stays yours, and Mirai has the licence in Terms §5.1D.]
  • Everyone in the film agrees first. If your entry shows another Mirai member (your cast), each of them gets an approval request for that entry, with the same consent, the prize split in section 5A and the cast pass in section 5B. Your entry goes public only when every person shown has approved it. If someone declines, or doesn't answer within 72 hours, the entry stays private and you can enter another film. Mirai's own free faces need no approval.
  • Anyone shown can withdraw an entry until the winners of its category and round are announced. It then comes down for everyone in it and cannot win. After the announcement, a withdrawal stops the entry being shown from then on; the prize record stays.
  • It is free to enter. A film you start from Make your entry never charges you your cast's personal-use fee: Mirai pays each cast member their 80% share of it in film credits when the film is made (Licence 8.2A), for up to 3 such films a round. Your first entry each round to go public is free too: Mirai gives back the credits your own part of that film cost, up to 180 credits, and any personal-use fee you paid for your cast. Photo entries can use your daily free photos. Prizes are announced and paid only while the prize pool is fully funded (section 5).
  • Up to 3 entries in each category each round, and up to 10 entries a day in all. Enter only your own creations, and each one only once in a category and round. A person wins at most one prize in a category in a round (section 6).
  • Use only your own face, a face that allows it and approves the entry, one of Mirai's free faces, or no face, and follow each category's cast rule in section 5: Solo categories show one performer (you, one of Mirai's free faces, or no person); Cast categories may show up to 2 people, and the film with a friend needs at least 1 other Mirai member who approves it. Follow our Community Standards. Keep every AI label and credential.
  • Posting elsewhere is never needed. If you share your entry on another platform, keep the "#contest" tag the share screen adds, and follow that platform's rules.

Your chance of winning depends on the number and quality of eligible entries.

5. Categories and prizes

Season 0 prizes are Mirai film credits, for making films and photos on Mirai. Each category has one prize each round, for the winning entry. Each prize is shown in credits, with its value in US dollars at $0.10 a credit. No Season 0 prize is paid in cash or USDC. A later round can offer cash prizes only through its round sheet, once a payout provider is live.

Every category accepts an entry made with your own face, one of Mirai's free faces, or no person, as its cast rule allows. An entry that shows another brand's logo or trademark is not eligible for Best fashion ad. There is no prize for views, followers or posts outside Mirai.

  • Prize pool: Round 1 5,500 film credits (about $550); Round 2 5,500 film credits (about $550); 11,000 film credits (about $1,100) for the season. Prizes are announced and paid only once the whole pool is funded from Mirai's published budget, and the pool is never reduced after entries open.
  • Credit prizes have no cash value and follow Terms §14E.
  • Prizes cannot be transferred. Mirai may swap a prize only for one of equal or greater value.
  • A prize that is not won is not awarded. If a category has no eligible entry in a round, or a share cannot be given (section 5A), that prize or share is not awarded in Season 0.

5A. How a prize is split

  • A prize is split equally between the maker and every approved cast member. The maker is the member who made and entered the entry. The cast is every other Mirai member shown who approved the entry. Example: the best short film's prize of 3,000 film credits is 1,500 film credits each for a maker and one cast member, and 1,000 film credits each for a maker and two cast members.
  • An entry with no cast keeps the whole prize for the maker.
  • Who is not cast. Mirai's own free faces, characters licensed from their owners (Terms §5.1E) and named people are not cast for this purpose and get no share. Named people are public figures and Signature talent (people Mirai works with under a Signature Addendum, Terms §8.5); they appear on Mirai only under their own agreement with Mirai (Terms §6.2).
  • Each share is that person's own prize. Each person must meet section 3 on their own, and gets their share the way sections 3A and 7 set for where they live.
  • A share someone cannot receive. If a cast member is not eligible, their share goes to the maker. If the maker is not eligible, the maker's own share is not awarded, and the cast keep theirs. A share in a recognition-only place (section 3A) is that person's recognition and does not move to anyone else.
  • Credit shares are rounded down to whole credits; any remainder goes to the maker.
  • The split in force is shown on the category before you enter and on every cast approval request, and it never changes for a round after entries open.

5B. The cast pass

  • When everyone shown has approved an entry, each of them gets a cast pass with the others. Until the season ends, each person in that entry may cast the others in their own films on Mirai, for personal use, without the personal-use fee (Licence 8.2A, 12.1). Each new approved entry gives a pass again.
  • A member can also ask first, before any film. A member may invite another member to be in their Season 0 films. The invited member sees who asked and what a Yes allows, and taps Yes or Not now. A Yes gives a cast pass one way: the member who asked may cast the member who said Yes in their own films on Mirai, for personal use, until the season ends, without the personal-use fee. To cast the member who asked, the other member sends their own invite. Only a member whose own face is approved on Mirai, who has done the Verified Human Check in person, with a passport, or with a live selfie or another ID document, who is 18 or older, and who may add their own face where they live (section 3) can say Yes. Nothing is made with anyone's face before their Yes.
  • A pass is never consent to an entry. Every entry that shows a member still needs that member's approval within 72 hours (section 4).
  • The pass covers personal use only. Any commercial use, including brand licensing and any cash payout, still needs the person's licence and fee.
  • Each person sees who holds a pass with them, both ways, on their own competition page (Yours, at mirai.inc/competitions/mine) and in Settings, and can end it there at any time. Ending it ends it both ways and stops new films between them from then on. Cancelling personal use (Licence 6.3) ends every pass too. Films already made stay, as the Licence says. Withdrawing an entry does not end a pass.
  • Cast pass films follow the Community Standards and every AI label, like any other film.

6. Judging

Entries are judged on skill only.

  • The jury. Each judge gives each entry one score from 0 to 100, for its craft, its originality and how well it answers the category's brief. An entry's jury score is the average of its judges' scores. Judges score the entry, never the entrant: never anyone's looks, followers, sales or bookability, and never whether they bought anything.
  • Judges are people Mirai appoints, with experience in film, design or advertising. No AI model scores Season 0 entries.
  • Public vote, in the categories that have one, with the weight in section 5, never more than 30%. An entry's vote score is its votes as a share of the votes of the most-voted entry in its category and round. One vote per human, per category, per round, with the Verified Human Check done in person or with a passport, and never for your own entry. Mirai staff may vote too, one vote each, on the same terms. Votes count only while the round is open. Trading or buying votes disqualifies.
  • The score is the jury score times the jury weight, plus the vote score times the vote weight.
  • Ties are broken by the higher jury score, then the more votes, then the earlier entry. Never by chance.
  • A person wins at most one prize in a category in a round.

7. Winners and prizes

  • Announcement: after each round closes and judging is done, on the public winners page (mirai.inc/competitions/winners) and in the gallery, with each winner's handle and how the prize was split.
  • Eligibility checks: when it announces a round, Mirai checks each winner, and each cast member receiving a share, against the records it holds: the age confirmation, the Verified Human Check, the country of residence, and whether the person is on Mirai's staff. Before announcing, Mirai also screens winners against sanctions lists, and it may ask any winner to confirm their eligibility within 60 days of the announcement. A share that fails these checks follows section 5A. A prize that went to someone who was not eligible may be withdrawn (section 10).
  • Credit prizes are added to your Mirai account when the winners are announced. They have no expiry date.
  • Winners list: on the public winners page for at least 12 months, or ask at info@mirai.inc.

8. Taxes

Season 0's credit prizes have no cash value. Where the law treats a prize in kind as income, the tax is yours, and each cast member's share is that person's own prize.

For a cash prize in a later round:

  • Before a cash prize is paid, the payout provider collects a Form W-9 if you are a US person, or a Form W-8BEN if you are not.
  • US persons: if your prizes total US$2,000 or more in a year, Mirai reports them on Form 1099-MISC.
  • Everyone else: US tax may be withheld at 30% or a lower treaty rate and reported on Form 1042-S, as the law requires.
  • Your home country may tax the prize too.

9. Your entry and what Mirai may do with it

You give no rights beyond what the Terms and the Likeness Licence already give, plus the competition consent you give for each entry you enter or approve (section 4). There is no separate publicity release.

  • Your entry is one of Your Creations or Likeness Content (Terms §5). If you live in Latin America, you keep the rights in an entry that shows no real person, and Mirai has the licence in Terms §5.1D.
  • Mirai may show entries in the gallery, and show winning entries with your handle on Mirai and its own channels, including the winners' reveal (Terms §7A.4).
  • If an entry shows a real person, Mirai uses it as an advertisement only if that person has turned on "Feature me in Mirai's own advertising" and approves that image (Licence 12.1).
  • A sponsor may use an entry only under a licence it buys from Mirai. Any person shown must be a Licensed Model who allows it (Terms §6.3, §8). If you live in Latin America, Mirai licenses an entry of yours that shows no real person to a sponsor only with your yes.
  • No entry is ever used to say anyone endorses or uses a product.

10. Disqualification

Bots, more than one account, vote manipulation, bought views, faces without consent (including a cast member who did not approve the entry), removed labels, attempts to influence a judge, or any breach of our Community Standards disqualify the entry, and we may withdraw the prize (Terms §7A.8).

11. Changes, appeals and disputes

  • We change or cancel a round only for fraud, a technical failure or the law. We then award the prizes among the entries made fairly.
  • Appeal any prize or disqualification decision, free, within 6 months (Terms §11.6). A person decides, within 14 days for a prize decision and 30 days otherwise.
  • Disputes follow Terms §19: talk to us first. In the United States, individual arbitration unless you opted out. In Latin America and the Philippines, the courts where you live.
  • Terms §17 applies. Nothing in these rules limits what Terms §17.3 lists, or your rights under your consumer law.

12. Privacy

Our Privacy Notice applies. We use entries and votes to run the competition, and key votes to your Verified Human Check code so each human votes once. For each entry we keep a consent record for every person in it (their role, the rules version they agreed to and the time), and we keep the cast pass records. We keep winners' records for 7 years for tax.

13. Void where prohibited

This competition is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Prizes are not available in the places section 3A excludes.

Rules for a later round

Each later round uses these rules, with a round sheet published before entries open. A round sheet can add to these rules but never take away from them. It fills in:
